Hi everyone this is my first post on this newsgroup i think everyone who has a cs-80 here  should tell there story on how they aquired their first cs-80.  Well the first time i even heard of the yamaha cs-80 was when i was reading about the history of the polymoog on dubsounds.com  I never seen or heard one. One musican from what i read who used it in recordings was a guy name Vangelis so i bought a cd which was titled China. after i listened to the cd i said to myself  i have to get a yamaha cs-80 that synth sounds damn good so i was checking out ebay for one well little did i know they cost a hell of a lot $8000.00 and up.  I watched them come and go on ebay for a small fortune just wishing i could bid and win an auction .  I am not going to pay that (cant afford it ) kind of money for a synth i never played in which i only heard otherwise.  Back in feb 2009 i saw that someone was selling on ebay 2 cs-80's with no reserve  I said
ok here is my chance to get 2 cs-80's for the price of ???(bargain)  I knew i needed financial backing so i asked my boss if i could borrow $11,000 because that was the highest i was going to bid on those 2 cs-80s .My boss after consulting his wife agreed . Luckily my boss is also my friend of 30 years and his wife also my friend of 28 years .  The auction went down to the wire a few people was bidding over 8000 the highest it went was i believe $10600 my bid was $11000  My dream of owning a cs-80 was now a reality  but I had to pickup the synth in New York city (manhattan) from OSI studios so i drove through an hailstorm and a tornado near knoxville tn and in new jersey i am guessing near the hudson river the thickest fog i ever driven in, and the return trip back in tennessee (near cookville) a small snowstorm (all nervewracking situations) Now i have a cs-80 in which i enjoy very much and a spare cs80 all for $10,600
ouch!!!!!!!!!!!  all that trouble/money  for a cs-80.........well to me .....worth every dime......... you only live once right????
