my best guesses are A)a multiplexer chip that is responsible for reading those switches, or B) an opamp that powers one of those chips. i recently had this problem on a cs40, and the opamp that powers one of the YM617's was down. good luck.

Subject: [yamahacs80] CS-80 Oscillator not turning off in panel mode (or memory settings)

I mentioned that one of the problems that has me stumped on the CS-80 I'm working on is
that in channel one's panel mode the oscillators will not turn off. Everything else seems to be
working in panel mode, noise, filter, envelope, etc. I also tested it in the memory section and
if I select a patch there and turn both oscillators off with the little mini selectors they still
sound. This leads me to believe that it is something more global since it is both in the
memory selectors and the panel mode. In panel mode for channel two they work as they
should. Any ideas?
