I think this should be no problem for the CP-70 but it could be quite intimidating to look at. Also, you ought to make sure that the ground underneath the CP-70 is ∗really∗ solid... I wouldn´t try it on wooden floors...

Subject: [yamahacs80] CS-80 on CP-70?

Hi,

I'm new to the group and I'm dealing with the rather weighty (pun
intended) decision to get a CS-80. With any beast like this, fitting
it into the right place in the studio is a heavy (OK, I'll stop with
the puns now) decision.

I'm considering setting the CS-80 on top of a Yamaha CP-70 electric
grand. Eddie Jobson had his on top of a CP-70 back in the day but I
don't know if he had some special stand made for the CP-70 to deal
with the extra weight. There is also the issue of making sure that
there is air circulation underneath the CS-80. I think this can be
handled by raising the CS up on blocks or angling it a bit forward.
I'm less concerned about this than I am with just the weight on the
CP-70.

Does anyone have any experience with putting a CS-80 on a CP-70? Am I
crazy to be considering this arrangement?

Thanks,
Eric
