as an owner, i cant imagine having mine on anything other than a stand like the original(im lucky to have the original). itll probably make sense when you get yours-its the most playable synth ive ever had. standing up would really blow, IMO. best of luck.

I'm new to the group and I'm dealing with the rather weighty (pun
intended) decision to get a CS-80. With any beast like this, fitting
it into the right place in the studio is a heavy (OK, I'll stop with
the puns now) decision.

I'm considering setting the CS-80 on top of a Yamaha CP-70 electric
grand. Eddie Jobson had his on top of a CP-70 back in the day but I
don't know if he had some special stand made for the CP-70 to deal
with the extra weight. There is also the issue of making sure that
there is air circulation underneath the CS-80. I think this can be
handled by raising the CS up on blocks or angling it a bit forward.
I'm less concerned about this than I am with just the weight on the
CP-70.

Does anyone have any experience with putting a CS-80 on a CP-70? Am I
crazy to be considering this arrangement?

Thanks,
Eric
