I'm a big fan of almost everything Vangelis has recorded, but the
Antarctica soundtrack is among his best ("tied" with Blade Runner, IMO).
I've never seen the movie, but the soundtrack definitely inspires
visions of a cold, icy and desolate land. It certainly sounds chock
full of CS-80, though it's much more dense than some of the earlier
recordings with many layers of synths going on.

:: Even if I am a fan of all V music I suggest those albums because the
:: cs-80 sound is much cleaner than on the next records : sometimes V
:: uses a Masterroom sprin reverb and a tape delay in a subtle
:: way ,while in the albums starting from "see you later" the sound
:: comes loaded of digital reverberation (courtesy of L 224):

:: plays more cs on these albums than on the following ( from SYL to
:: Rhapsodies the strings will come only from VP330 !!!)
