good instincts. changing the psu capacitors is not too hard. youll probably have to order the 5600mfd/40v caps, other values should be at your local store. digikey is quick delivery/processing if youre in the states, might as well get em all there.
its always a smart preventative idea. seems like a waste of time until that one time you power up something, a cap fails, and you wind up burning out something downstream. that's a REAL pain. been there, it blows.
