Subject: Re: [PolySix] Polysix Legacy factory patches?

From: Johannes Hausensteiner <johau@gmx.net>

Hi,

A file converter program is easily made if you know the file formats.
The information seems not to be available for the VST .fx[b,p] files.
But I believe it is not too hard to find out when you have the VST
Polysix software (which I don't). It would be an interesting project,
though. If you provided me with the software for the duration of the
project I would like to try to make such a converter. What do you think?

Best regards,

Johannes

I know it may be a long shot, but does anyone happen to know if the original Polysix factory patches (Bank A and Bank B) were ever recreated as banks (extension .fxb) or programs (extension .fxp) by Korg or a user for the Korg VST Plugin version of the Polysix released in the KORG Legacy Collection? If so, where could one find them?

I do know that the original factory patches are in the 'files' section as .P6 files, but the VST plugin only recognizes .fxb or .fxp files, it'd be surprising if they recognized the original file type.

Neat, huh? :) The factory patches I'm seeking are most likely the originals used in the show, give or take some tweaking. Right now, I'm trying to use a Yamaha DX7II-FD to cover the patches, but they're still not nearly the same :/
