Archive of the former Yahoo!Groups mailing list: Discussion about the Korg PolySix synthesizer
Subject: I'm back!

Back in June, I asked the list for advise over buying a second hand
Poly6. Well guys, I took the advise and bought a stylophone instead!
nonono! I took your advice, and after a bit of wangling with the
seller and a bit of problem picking the synth up (never rely on a
friend who 'just works round the corner'!!!) - I am the proud owner
of a Poly6 which arrived last Thursday, just in time for my birthday
the day after! It is now perched pertly next to my Korg X5 and Roland
D50 and has relegated the Roland SH09 from the second keyboard stand
onto the bookcase!
I know the next step should be SORT THE BATTERY OUT, but I am taking
a few days to work out what the hell I can do with the beastie. MANY
THANKS to whoever posted the pdf version of the maunal on
the 'Unofficial poly6 site' because that is a great start.
I am a total neophyte to analog synths (the SH09 was an unexpected
eBay bargain bought in June, and I haven't sussed that out either),
so be prepared for damned-fool questions over the coming months!
One classic line from the manual listed under 'Features' is
says "Lightweight 11.5kg instrument." I carried the bugger upstairs
(admittedly in its nice hard case) - 'lightweight' is not a word I
would use!!!
cheers
