I completely agree with this. When I repaired mine, there were traces
which looked as though they had plenty of copper to conduct, but
apparently the metal had corroded enough that the conductivity was
compromised. Very careful Ohmeter testing isolated the bad traces. I
wouldn't recommend a continuity buzzer for this work.
You will need to be very methodical in your approach. If you can, use a
PCB copper overlay printout, and trace out the conductivity, node by
node. Test multipoint-to-multipoint at each termination of each node,
and if there is a break in conductivity, then work your way inwards from
each termination, to isolate the compromised trace sections.
This sounds very finicky and tedious, but it is really not too bad once
you get going. I guess you would have already fixed more than 95% of the
issues, doing something very similar to what I have described. However,
with this sort of work, it is often the last 5% that requires the most
effort.
