Loss is a tough topic - but our feelings are bolstered for the memoriesfor having had him as a contributor to our lives - sorely missed.

Yes,so very sad.
Madeeven sadder for me, because of the song I'm currently working on forthe new album, which is about loss and unfulfilled potential.
Condolencesto his family.
Weare less for his passing.

It's very sad to hear that Jon has passed.  I didn't knowhim, but it is obvious that he had a great influence on our list. That's good.  My best to his family.

For those of you who, like me, have wonderedabout the absence of Jon Salley from these groups, a little sleuthingby Martin Smith seems to have turned up the unfortunate answer...

Jon E. Salley

  • BORN: March 10, 1954
  • DIED: May 14, 2010
  • LOCATION: KS
Sadly Jon has left us. I recall that he wassick, but never considered the possibility that he had died. I figuredhe got tired or bored. I for one will miss him terribly. I can rememberany number of great and amusing off list exchanges over the years. Hewas one of my very first friends when I joined the Mellotronists listmany years back and he was a very funny guy. and also very talented.

Jon had been working on a new project, Tintagel. He has a web site, but it doesn't look like he ever completed it. Healso has his personal and Tintagel Myspace pages. Go listen to hismusic. Pretty damn good.
