That and ....there seems to be a sweet spot where the mellotron gets all warm and fuzzy and a little distorted and that sound hits it. The tenor sax and the M330B also.

I was quite surprised at how useful the trombone is as a lead, I think this might be because George Chisholm was a very good trombonist and perhaps rather a better musician than some of the musicians used for the mellotron tapes.

I've gotta say though that hearing the GC trombone on these pieces and considering it to be the lead sound on Flying has me reconsidering it. I've always used it as a backing sound supporting trumpet but it is interesting in the high register as a lead.

They are all jokes Clay. Although I quite like the sound  of the trombone in the slowest version and of course  scherzo is italian for joke. All the pieces I have posted here weren't meant to be taken seriously and quite a few have been very obvious spoofs , I may perhaps have an odd sense of humour.

Mark:
All three of these are just midi sequences triggering mellotron samples. The tempo and artificial timing sounds like shit. I guess I'm a bit annoyed that you recently called a real recording of Satie with Mellotron "terrible", then you post this poop. I don't get it. Have you been at the pub again?

It is weird to think he has been dead 13 years and that by using samples of something recorded over 50 years ago he is forced to play Satie's Gymnopedie in the present day. Are the names of the three ladies scraping away in Harry Chamberlin's bedroom over 60 years ago known?
