Satie tends to polarise.  I love it but know many who find it tedious and ponderous.  They are wrong in my book and Mike knows I share his fascination.  Musical mnimalism can be a hard pill to swallow but Satie makes it easy....for me.  Arvo Part also hits the spot but not Philip Glass or Arthur Pottle.  Especially Pottle, the nicotine swilling, Vodka smoking, utterly confused twat.

However, I fail to see how anyone can fail to be entranced by Satie, and even more puzzled why anyone can be antipathetic to it. I find it perhaps the most mesmerising music I have ever heard.
