Agreed, once again. There are many sacrifices aside
from money that obsession will present. I paid $1800
(US) for my EMI that had been through all the best
hands and eventually dismissed as unfixable. I'd have
done anything for any mellotron and just had to make
it happen. After $1000 and a lot of blood, sweat and
key-twisting later (and a few calls to Markus) it's
running pretty nicely. More importantly, I learned a
tremendous deal about the problems invloved and feel I
can conquer just about any and all melltron foibles.
Yes, I'd love an M400, but it just isn't within my
means. Yes, I settled for an EMI, but I have a
mellotron, it works well, and that's more than most
can claim.
Cheers!
