Hey hey,

There seems to have been a lot of Orchestrons resurfacing lately...I know of three that are shifting hands for impressive prices. Are they worth  it ? Probably not. But is a Mellotron 400 with one tape frame worth 5 -6000 ? A lot of people wouldnt think so...

Anyways this discussion has made me think about how much I use mine and how it compolements the Mellotron. Also...the other week I got the latest "new" disc from Pea Hicks, The Marimba...and it sounds great. Not as much resonance as the Mellotron Marimba rolls. I think he will be doing Glockenspiel next which is a terrifying thought considering the instruments somewhat limited frequency range...

A couple of weeks back my band Nanook of the North mixed a track with the Orchestron choirs in the verses doubling the glockenspiel.

If you are curious to hear it you can download it here...

The orchestral stuff (harp, glockednspiel, french horn, cello and clarinet) is all real. Other keyboards are the Yamaha GX-1, Mellotron stringsection, solina organ (the bass), Mellotron vibes.

This isnt released yet so for private consumtion only, please...

have a great weekend...!
