Agreed. This mellotron is not a good "raise the bar"
candidate. Lots of extras, good motor control and
upgrades and most importantly, location. As far as
mellotron owners being 45-60 year old crazies, not
true anymore. The indie rockers love them, so that
puts the trust fund kids and and the hardcore analog
guys in the mix, so to speak. Lots of indie bands and
engineers in and around Boston. Hell, I almost bid on
it. I'm not surprised.
The guy who bought # 600 (Lazarus) from me is in his late 20s. He is on this list. My recently sold Melltron, # 1562 is currently being recorded by My Morning Jacket for their next album.
