This discussion thread gets me to wondering:  Why did Streetly finish the original 400s in white in the first place?  Was it simply to make them stand out from the other instruments on a stage?  Any thoughts, Martin?

The guy who used to paint them had once worked in a refrigerator factory. It was either white or avocado as far as he was concerned. Streetly wisely insisted on white. The y did test one 400 in avocado. I believe Frankie Stickle has it in his kitchen.
