Btw- I do enjoy much of Topographic (notthat anyone would care). The Mellotron is lovingly recorded, even though themusical parts may not be as inspired as others in the history of the instrument…

Listen to Jim!
Topographic Oceans is a masterpiece, in my opinion.
It's something (like water) to immerse yourself in (pardon the pun).
Sorry but it can'thelp to be introduced to the piece so many yearsafter it's release.
Times and tastes have changed, but Close to the Edge and Tales arestill fresh to my ears and many live experiences with both albums refreshes thefeelings everytime.
My 2 cents worth,
Tony

Caffeinewill not help in the attempt to enjoy Topographic Oceans. It will onlyfrustrate you. Try the opposite end of the narcotic spectrum- barbiturates.

Itdoesn't matter if we are talking about the music, album cover art, lyrics ormullets. I can say that the Tarkus album cover art was complete crap. Someoneelse can say it was the best album cover ever. It would be awfully boring ifeveryone agreed on everything.
Speaking of boring... Topographic Oceans - I've tried many times to get intothat album. I will try again, after a few Red Bulls.
