Hi Dan-
   Congrats on getting the Mellotron, and welcome to the group!
   In transporting the unit, I agree with removing the tapeframe.  Then, the tape drawbar can be zip-tied to hold it on the frame, before it is wrapped in a blanket or bubble-wrap for transport.
   Stabilize or remove the headblock, too.
   Make sure the power supply screws are tight!  You don't need the supply rolling around in the unit during transport.  Power supply is the big gray metal thing in the bottom left side of the cabinet.
   I hope the top cover has all its latches.  If not, it may need to be removed or lashed in place.  If the cover is removed, the cheek blocks should be removed & packed seperately, too.  Cheek blocks are L & R of the keyboard.
 
   Don't get TOO lost in Ken Leonard's website :-)
  
    Enjoy your Mellotron!  These things are a wonderful adventure.
