Rachmaninov's Sheherazade? I'm only familiar with the Rimsky-Korsakov piece (which is very nearly the most perfect piece of music written in my humble opinion)...do tell!

the diana rigg era of avengers was one of the television greats of all time and remains a favourite.
When I was 12 years old my Dad took me to see Prokofiev's Peter and The Wolf at Birmingham Town Hall. The narrator was Diana Rigg in a white leather jumpsuit and she was just 6 feet from me. If I had reached puberty all hell would have broken out.
I also heard Rachmaninov' s Sheherazade for the first time that night and never looked back.
