Hi all- Sounds like a bit of Mk2 tenor sax. Interesting. The "Carnival of Light" recording is documented in the "The Beatles: Recording Sessions" book by Mark Lewisohn. The book is based on actual studio and tape notes and recording charts from their sessions, and is quite comprehensive. The book says the "Carnival of Light" recording was done on January 5 1967, for a festival of the same name later that month. It was 13min 48sec in length, and, after a rough mono remix, Paul took it away. George Martin was asked if he could recall the recording, and replied "No, and it sounds like I don't want to either!" From the various versions I scanned on You-Tube, I am guessing the 4-track master also got out, and people are mixing it their own way. Some may even be adding stuff to the mix. Geeze, even unmitigated Beatles crap isn't sacred. -Bruce D. --- On Fri, 5/15/09, Paul Tillotson <felixkrull2u@comcast.net> wrote:
