that's news to me! So maybe it's not strings then, (it's used for something else)
or Greenslade is playing it - doing the string arrangement? It was a foreign release version I'm referring to that mentioned it - maybe dating from the 70's.
It was common back then to list "string arrangements" and not Mellotron or Chamberlin when trying to avoid the squabbles with the musicians union
Two examples are What's Going On (Marvin Gaye) and Nightwalker (Gino Vannelli) both mention string arrangements but have Chamberlin strings / other stuff mixed in as well.
