I forgot to mention. Ian Mc was pretty rough on the top of the MkII during Mars. He was banging something on top of it. I bet there were a few marks in the wood.

Nice. You should post some pictures so we can all dream. Understand that seeing Crimson in 1969 was my fist visual sighting of a Mellotron. I had no idea what the strange "organ" Ian M was playing and how the hell did it sound like a string section? After I returned from the festival I immediately went out and purchased ITCOTCK. On the list of equipment used there it was: Ian M flute sax woodwinds and Mellotron. I do remember those silver handles on the sides.

Martin. What are your plans for these trons?
They belong to Robert and he stores them with us.  The deal is that when he decides to sell, we get the restoration jobs!  We did them a long time ago, almost 18 years I think and they were taken down to Real World for the Thrak sessions and them came back and have sat idle ever since in an unheated warehouse.  They all need doing again!  It was nice to see them all in a neat semi circle inside Real World's light and airy central control room.  Mike D played the Red machine at the 1998 playback in London and ordered an M400 the same day which we duly dropped when he came to collect.  Excess alcohol and 'trons do not mix.

Best,

Martin
