I am trying to put together a new tape set with some Chamberlin sounds.
The sounds Pinder used on Seventh Sojourn ( violin / cello / oboe / french horn etc. ) were done on an M2 I believe.
You forgot about the flutes and concertina as in For My Lady. According to Richard they used an M-4 which is a four manual keyboard. They never used any other model.
Do any of you know if the sounds of the M2 have any relation to the Chamberlin 200 series or were the sounds of the former new recordings?
All Chamberlin sounds were available for any of the models. Though later sounds like the harps / harpsichord weren't available until the last 2 years of production.
Sound libraries were not specific to the release of new models. That was strictly a Mellotron / Birotron thing. Also Chamberlins were made to order. If you wanted one, you contacted them and they built it for you. They weren't made in advance.
