it's FAR easier to lace a set of tapes that are still intact on reels.
i just did this a few months ago, and comparing that process to dealing with 35 individual tapes is like night and day.

if you are going to remove old tapes from the old frame, then you might consider using that as an opportunity to clean up and refurbish the old frame. much less chance of having a single tape get damaged while transferring from one frame to another. if the old frame needs work, then do the work to bring it back up to spec. since you are going to use that frame at least occasionally, you should have it in good nick anyway.

just my 2 cents if i were in that position.
and also in the interest of sparing your back.
