Although the Pianet strikes me as a bad Rhodes (boy, that's redundant) that sounds more like the problem of a band choosing material they weren't equipped to do, not a fault of the instrument. If you can't make a song sound right because of equipment limitations, choose another song.
Like playing "Night In White Satin" with a Farfisa organ in the band? LOL
Actually, it overall sounded pretty good, dominated by guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, with the Pianet providing the steady rhythmic pattern IN THE BACKGROUND, as the VCS3 did in the original recording. Frankly, the audience really didn't give a shit because they loved the song and usually tore the place apart. You still knew it was there, though, and I always found myself craving a 50/50 bar after we finished the song!
