I am so sorry to hear this, Frank. Keenais our sweet lab and she is 14 ½. I never heard of this malady but will definitelycheck into it.

Many of youknow that Karen and I are Doberman lovers... Actually dog lovers who haveDobermans. Last night we lost our old boy, Wolf, to torsion, also known asbloat. Once it happens, there is no cure beyond surgery. We tried to save himbut we could not. He was almost 11 years old.
If any of youown deep-chested dogs like Labs, Dobes, German Shepherds or Great Danes, pleaselearn about this. Any dog can die from it, but deep-chested dogs are the mostlikely.
Please readabout this and understand how you can help prevent it. We did everything rightbut he died anyway.
He was ourbaby.
