Hi, Jim.

A)  For me, the most tron drenched recording is still The Moody Blues' To Our Children's Children Children:
    - M300 harpsichord (arm laid across the keys) as the opening blast-off (a tip of the hat to Jerry Korb for realizing this)
    - MkII 3 violins throughout
    - Pitch-bended vibes on "Floating"
    - 1/2-speed brass, flute, and strings on "Beyond"
    - Flute on "Eyes Of A Child" and "Gypsy"
    - M300B strings on "Watching And Waiting"
Some will probably argue, "Well, Celluloid's Neptune was 100% Mellotron and Edgar Froese's Ypsilon In Malaysian Pale is mostly Mellotron.  I have both, however, IMHO I can't sit down and listen to and enjoy (key word here) either without thinking, "Jeez, where is this going to be over?", whereas I can replay TOCCC and not get the least bit tired of it.

B) The passage that really still gives me goosebumps is the middle instrumental section of Yes' "And You And I" from Close To The Edge (..."for reasons to...call..."  with the tron crescendo, tron/MiniMoog riff, and the full band kicking in.

I was wondering…what do you guys listen to, that demonstrates the ‘Tron’s capabilities?  Some of you could probably mention a number of things that would be interesting for the rest of us to look into….since this group has insight into the instrument, and what has been recorded over the years.

A.) What is your favorite song that uses the Mellotron (or Chamberelin)  the one that really hooked you.

     Old or new…doesn’t matter.

B.) What is your favorite Mellotron riff…the one you just had to learn how to play – or , would love to play?
