I don't own a Mellotron , can't play a darn thing, probably don't have a reason to be here, except I've loved the sound since I first heard it back in 1968.
Maybe someday I'll be able to place my fingertips on one just to hear the magic.
So,  it really is a privilege and opportunity to come here and listen to you folks discuss the instrument - and I hope no one leaves.

I agree, Chris. While the topic often strays a bit, to synths and even other instruments, it's still about music - in particular, the type of music we all seem to appreciate most: those groups or players who love & use Mellotrons. I don't understand incivility, either, when it happens. There's no excuse or call for it... & I've seen no reason for it in this particular thread. Gino wanted to highlight an extremely talented, creative, professional technician who happens to be younger and female. For me that's a plus! There's the age-old story of not enough girls getting into science classes, etc. Happily that's changing - it NEEDS to - and girls like Alison are the happy result.

Gino, thanks for posting the video of her and her Mellotron work, and now writing on all the synth work she's doing for you. Wow! Way beyond MY scope, as well. It's a grea t highlight on great talent. MY particular criticisms have ONLY been of her client, the Mellotron's owner, the sad condition of the instrument and the fact that they apparently kept her from doing what she could & would have to make it an outstanding machine! Must've been frustrating!

That all said, especially with the limits placed on particular parties, I hope NO ONE quits this group... it's been really enjoyable, often educational, to follow along & read all of your very worthy comments and stories. Thanks for them all!

Cheers to everyone.
