Subject: Re: [newmellotrongroup] Blood and Bones

Hi Mark

Of course you haven't offended anyone. My point is that sometimes you cannot remove or simplify too much or the essence is lost. Blood and Bones is a complicated bugger but without those complications, nuances of chord, specific intervals, any tribute would be so distant from the original that it is only in name itself. I am too precious but there it is.

My best

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your comments, they have been very thought provoking!

Obviously I am a C F G man, well I am pretty sure there is an a minor and possibly a d minor in there somewhere. I wasn't trying to sound like Woolly, what on earth would be the point? I was trying to sound like myself doing a cover of one of Woolly's songs. It was meant as a tribute.

Not being an artist myself I don't know how I would feel if anyone covered one of my songs in the way I have covered Woolly's. You were Woolly's friend, if you think this would have offended him please let me know and I will remove it.

Best wishes

Mark
