What?  HUH??? 

True stuff, all.  I think much has to do with the fact that in a real 'Tron, each individual note even has its own timbre, response & personality, subtle though it may be.  (Should be, anyway!)  But some of the sample-takers have even sought to "clean up" the sound & make it all smooth & shiny.  Nice, but not Mellotron! 

I think Fripp's idea of going out with Memotrons is excellent!  Given his disdain for the analogs, it undeniably makes things easier & safer for setup & reliability.  At least he's using the proper SOUNDS, & not just using orch samples or synths as so many have fallen into.  Mellotron, analog or digital, still has its own unique sound!  Still got mine.
