I think Richard told me there were 6 of these things made, but only 4 were still around. They later abandoned the idea unless it was a special order.
You know, I took notes about what he said and should probably look it up to confirm this.
As far as the asking price, there are people out there who pay insane amounts of money for odd and rare things. Rick Wakeman mentions about a Birotron that went for $35,000, and someone once offered a similar price to me for the Wakeman MKV, but I don't know how serious he was.
Another guy offered to trade his Porche to me for my Chamberlin. This guy was serious! I told him everyone has access to buy a Porsche anytime, but that opportunity doesn't exist with buying a Chamberlin.
So who knows - it could go for that much. I don't necessarily think it's a good thing though!
