Thanks for the reply.  The GSM plugs I've tried don't seem to be accurate enough.  They are merely a series of filters and what-not to simulate the output.  The damage is coming from the conversion.  I have more faith in your second suggestion and will be pursuing this path to its logical conclusion.

Also, maybe check with them as to what level of compression settings they are using on their system. Perhaps they can improve their settings?

Fritz, see if you can get hold of a GSM compression plugin, so you can degrade the signal as much as the client will be doing, and thus try and find music that still works under those conditions!
