That’s the thing about those guys. They were all in a league of their own. Errol may have loved the Tron. One of the things I really enjoy besides about the best left hand I have ever heard is that some of his recordings sounded like they were recorded at our local bar, out of tune upright and all. Combined with his grunting and intensity, well you’re right. The Tron would last about ten bars, and then tapes would be flying out of it.

I think that the Tron and jazz are back to back to each other...the Tron is soooo slow, it has a lot of delay...so much so that most of these players would probably give up on the first chords...besides...it's OUT of tune...foreverrrr...thank God!

I love Errol Garner & Oscar Peterson too !
I recommend that you check out Art Tatum; I think he was big influence on Oscar Peterson.
Also, check out Mal Waldron.
With the resurgence of the Mellotron, hopefully more artists will try to utilize it effectively in some sort of jazz based music, even though it seems, it was not used that successfully in the past.
