Subject: [newmellotrongroup] Starting to record

Taking this moment to rave a bit. Bit excited right now.

Tomorrow afternoon (or your equivalent, I'm in California) my band we're starting to record. Hoping to get an EP out of it, but we do have to do it all ourselves. We've all dabbled a bit with recording and such, but to get a quality product this is going to be taxing!

There are four tracks slated to be smeared with mellotron. (Or rather samples on my laptop. And no, in the mix I can't tell the diff.) Most tracks to be smeared with gobs of clonewheel Hammond. (And VB3 is so good, I can't tell the diff in isolation!) Maybe toss in some mandolin (real) and harmonium (again fake, cuz antique stores are exspensive) if those tunes are rehearsed enough. Lots of real flute. Should be good times.

Is there anyone willing to give audio engineer type advice either on or off list? We'll probably need it at several points. Thanks!
