Welcome! Nice bunch of guys here. Quite supportive of all the differentbreeds of tape and non-tape Mellotrons and Chamberlins. Not much snobbyelitism around these parts. Even some fun optical talk mixed in!

I guess I joined the old group that a member here was kind enough topoint out to me so I'll post here instead. Thanks!

Just joined and this is my first post. Ever since I was a kid I wanted aMellotron and twenty five years later it finally came true. I have a m400with two sets of tapes in my attic recording studio. Works ok but I haveto futz with it a lot, but I knew when I bought it that there was goingto be a learnig curve. I just love it. One set of tapes is the standardflute, cello, and strings. The other set is kinda weird. It has sixsounds each divided at the center key, plus some sound effects at the endof one of the sounds. How common was that? The crappy part about that isthat the sound effects are on the choir half, leaving me only an octaveof choir, I wish it had been the flutes! The choir is my favorite sound,so I just ordered a new set of tapes with full choirs from Markus Resch.I look forward to reading and hopefully getting a few questionanswered.

Thanks!
