Bernie and interested parties,

Obtain a 3' length of 3/8" wide x 1/8" thick bending quality brass or aluminium from a metal stockist. Find the halfway point and bend it round on itself to create forks with a nice radius of 1.5" on the bend itself. File the ends smooth and use that as a pusher or Service Tool K if you will!

Take the first tape (already cut across the punched hole) and place it under the back screws until the 'start' mark is just before the head gap/ middle of playback head. Fasten the LEFT screw only.

Unwind the tape and let 6' approx. fall over the front of your tron. Use your right hand to lift the length in the air and drop into the storage box.

Cut the tape at the next punched hole and place under the front screws, leaving approx 10" dangling. Tighten the LEFT screw.

Continue until all the tapes are in the storage box. THEN.....one by one......

Push each tape either side of the top roller with your new creation. Once the loops have dropped, unfasten the turnbuckle and insert. Compare the final loop lengths by parking the back bar in the frame and placing the front clamp bar back on the frame. The tapes should just be under tension in the park position. If not, pull the tapes from the front until they are.

Finally, trim the ends.

TIP: Unfasten the front clamp bar of the tape frame and place on the keyboard pillars while you lace. It improves access.
