Yes -
Be afraid - be very afraid...
Here in SoCal there is a wonderful place called The Nethercutt Collection http://nethercuttcollection.org/ . If you're in town, go. I was fortunate enough to be in the first group to tour through it in the early '70's. We also have a family friend that works there - he's the perfect combination for the place: a vintage auto and a mechanical musical instrument restorer. They rigged the Wurlitzer Theater Pipe Organ to a record and play from a computer in the 1970's. Also check out http://www.amica.org/Live/index.htm
That Ampico Bosendofer in the video was magnificent. Love these things.I have a Aeolian Duo-Art Reproducer (that needs work). I paid to have mine moved - I can't imagine doing it even with help!

Hi again.  Not all my message came through.

My association with my buddy's player piano began with a phone call like this: "Hey Bruce, old pal, do you want to help me move something?"  From the tone of his voice I knew exactly what was to be moved.

Wow!  Das' a whole lotta keys at once!
I love those old player pianos. They were one of the modern mechanical wonders back at the turn of the 20th century.

A friend of mine got one for free, along with plenty of rolls.  It is a pump version, and never was converted to electric.

Imagine the db's in the room! It fades in and out of sync long before the half way point.

Have you ever seen a Violano? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns5M5sWzoNM&list=UUJEfvw6kthjP7SxW4xmKkUw&index=5&feature=plcp
