Another question.

I'm wanting to completely redo the finish on my Conn Caprice I've got. Would like to do up the same finish at the MkI and IIs. I love that rich red tinge to the wood, and the high gloss.

I've heard the big ones had Mahogany veneer. What were in the various layers of finish, I mean, what lacquers or varnishes or whatnot?
