Hi Clay-
I have not heard it yet. I have the 2003 SACD release, which has a new 5.1 channel mix. Decent enough, but it was mixed with modern ideals. The old quad mix may be interesting. The common quad SQ and QS encoding standards didn't allow for much channel separation from front to back. I can only guess that Alan Parsons either did the quad mix with those standards in mind, or for his own personal pleasure (meaning more separation). I hope for the latter. I also hope they are better than quad stuff from the Moody Blues, which had horrible EQ imbalances between channels.
Immersion edition? Do I want the Floyd in front of me, or all around me? A fair question, but one which someone else can pay to answer! ;-)
