It was pretty freaky. It was dark for as far as you could see. I made it out at 6:30 this morning. I stayed up all night so as not to be late incase the airport was crazy. It was empty.

Subject: [newmellotrongroup] Re: Frank Samagaio's gear. Items for sale.

As I write this, I am sitting in my hotel room here in San  Diego, California. I flew out here for two purposes. As I'm sure all of you are aware, Frank Samagaio passed away some months back. When he died, his sister acquired his music gear and the rest of his personal possessions. I am now the new owner of Frank's Mark II and I am trying to help his sister liquidate his other music gear. Needless to say, the Mark II was his most valued possession and I feel fortunate to  have acquired it. I say this recognizing that my opportunity to acquire it came at the loss of someone I considered a friend and for whom this Mellotron meant a great deal.

I have a list of Frank's other gear. He had a small studio that he ran from the first floor of his home. There is a lot of stuff. His family has decided to keep his rather valuable guitar collection, but there are monitors, some other keyboards, keyboard controllers, microphones, power amps, a couple of Akai samplers, attenuators, etc.

Does anyone in this group live in the San Diego area? If so, please contact me off list if you can help us with moving some of this equipment. Listed below is most of what he had. All of his tapes and recordings are being kept by his family.

Some of this may need clarification. If anyone is interested in any of this, please contact me off list with an offer. Any fair offer will be considered. Everything looks to be in very good condition and Frank's sister would take anything back if it were for some reason deemed faulty.
