Ah. this could explain some things. The M300B tapes that are sold by
Mellotron archives seem to be the upper end of this three way split. The
lower few notes still retain the cello sound. When i played the M300 at
the Mellotron Ranch the string sound didn't seem at all like this version
nor did it sound like the A set either. So maybe Jerry has this later
sound- the true B sound.
