Here's my volley back..

Rarely do I use ANY processing on my tron with the exception of EQ and compression, so I am uncommon that way. No verb, no delay etc.  Once I rebuild my 122 I'll dump it through that and the nice hot output of the tron will overdrive the Leslie nicely.

I fully admit to all manner of processing, just to make the sound a bit more interesting.  On some of the more adventurous works I had a hand in (like 'Mars' or the Tallis Fantasia) there were 60+ Mellotron tracks used with maybe 20 of them being used at once on occasion.  For that reason I really had to look into using Adobe Audition for noise reduction.

Just for laughs I once knocked up all the faders recorded the sound of 60 or so inactive Mellotrons at the same time.  Pretty noisy.
