I wish you had not identified which was which - I found the Mellotron version to be superior in sonic quality (ears of the listener, eh?), and certainly the preferable of the two.  Just so you know, I started out with M-Tron, but found the quality of the samples to be quite limited - Cello and Three Violins were the most useful to me, with the Flute being full of drop outs and such.  A lot of the rest of the sounds suffered from major issues.  I was grateful to have it, but, it wasn't the solution for me.

Neither of these pieces are great  music but might be of interest in comparing M-tron and and my mellotron. I am not trying to re-ignite the mellotron samples debate, I quite like the sound of both of these pieces they are just different. Sometimes I use samples, sometimes I don't.

Enjoy or not.
