Interesting. I read a review this morning and am considering buying the book.

I have this book.

Overall it's a very good book, well researched and a good resource for those curious about the history of the vocoder.

But what's not good about it is the occasional 'hipster lingo' the author uses when showing his bias towards some less than talented late 70's and 80's contributors to vocoder use.

He occasionally passes these people off as bigger than they are (or were) and exaggerates their influence as though it was consensual fact and not his own opinion.

The exaggerations of contributions by 80's era 'nobodies'  hampers the books' credibility.

If you can see through this 'revisionism'  this then the book is a great resource.

I found this web site http://howtowreckanicebeach.com/ after seeing a book with this title as a prop on the Buchla site.

Men talking with Frogs to Bob Moog. Quite an adventure to look at.
