Thanks chaps, it is indeed sad but I can't keep hold ofthe beauty as it's not getting any use.
I'll get another one when I get a house that's not 300 yearsold with a narrow staircase!!

Hi everyone.
I am selling my beloved Mellotron M400 (Black, 1973, ex Edgar Froese Serial No. 1134) and thought I'd post here to see if anyone out there would be interested. I am in Sussex, England.
I've had the tron since 2003 and it's a superb sounding machine. It has two tape frames with Mk2 Violins, Mk2 Brass, 8 Voice Choir and Mk2 Flute, Cello and Woodwind. The tapes were replaced when I had the tron serviced in 2004. I also replaced the motor with an SMS2 model.
Edgar Froese's name can be seen on one of the tape frames and the chaps at Streetly verified that the machine had been sent to Edgar Froese in 1973.
Well, that's it. Please feel free to contact me for photos of the machine if you're interested in buying it.
Thanks, Lee.
