I laughed at the Streetly sticker on the inside of the tron advising when the next scheduled maintenance should be. It's been so reliable and simple to maintain, what could possibly go wrong that can't be fixed?

Then other notes started warbling, and one by one the play time of each note decreased until it stopped altogether. The tapes weren't rewinding properly. Not just one or two tapes that needed adjustment. All the tapes, and all at once.

In the circumstances, it's a waste of money trying to fix a problem that's inherent in the design and cannot be eliminated.
