Hey Rick, when did you change the spelling of your last name? I just
bought an allegedly new copy of "Cemetery of the Nameless" from
bookworm-outlet (via Amazon). Your name is crossed off on the inside
page and hand-written in blue ink (not ballpoint) as "Rick Bleehta".
Did you have do that with every copy?

Hi Bernie,

First off, thanks for buying the book. I hope you enjoy it.

Here's the drill for the signing on the title page. Timothy Findlay, the great Canadian writer once took me to task (gently) because I signed the title page of a book and didn't cross out my printed name. This is what traditionally should be done and supposedly indicates that it was the author who indeed signed the book (although I don't see why a forger couldn't do the same thing). I thought it was kind of a neat idea, so that's what I now do.

As for my name being spelled wrong, that's just bad penmanship on my part. My handwriting has always sucked.

So what you've wound up with is a book I signed somewhere along the way. Hold it up to your computer screen and I'll see if I can identify where it was.

Rick
