My Mellotrons are quite heavy and occasionally out of tune, are there any good samples out there that one can use ?

The Soniccouture and Hollow Sun Kontakt libraries don't have that problem. They're both very good. The Soniccouture set is from Phil Cirocco's restored Novachord.
