I loved your version of Shenandoah. I live in Virginia, very close to the Shenandoah Valley and the mountains and the river are beautiful. I have loved this tune all my life and where I live is surrounded by the locations of some of the great battles of the Civil War. This song for me has always meant longing to be home. Whether soldier or sailor or just someone away from where their home and heart are, the desire to return home is innate in us all. There is no better tune to express that longing. Sweet!
