Re: [newmellotrongroup] New Video Some quotes from the Orchestron group about Mellotrons...
“ Heavy and impossible to tour with “
“ Cant play fast on them...”
“ 8 second limit and the end of every tape is out of tune “
“ Coolest album ? Trans europé express or tales from topographic ocean ”
“ Mellotron – the poor mans Orchestron “
“ Takes forever to change tapes “
“ Relayer was yes best album – without a doubt “

For me, none!
Never wanted or owned one.
Haven't mentioned the "hicup" everytime the disc completed one revoloution and started another, but about like needed to lift before the 8 seconds of tape is about to end with Mellotrons.
Great idea except it didn't work.

That's where my Orchestron info and factory visits came from.
I played his triple, he wasn't fond of it, to put it mildly and neither was I.
What is the point of playing a triple keyboard version of an instrument that sounds fundamentally awful?
